Merrick has been engaged by Ghassan Group in the acquisition and mobilisation of two Spanish manufacturing businesses – Coperfil and British Robertson which are based in Sant Celloni, 30km north of Barcelona. Coperfil designs and manufactures structural steel framed buildings for the logistics, residential and aviation sectors. British Robertson manufactures architectural cladding and panels for warehouses, hotels, residential and other uses.
The businesses traditionally have operated primarily in the Spanish domestic market which has experienced significant recessionary downturn over the last 5 years, offering Ghassan the opportunity to acquire the businesses and with Merrick’s involvement re-position them to supply new markets in the Middle East, Europe, North Africa and South America.
